Una Noche Inolvidable Con Tito Rodriguez Jr.

Tito Rodríguez Jr. brings the sound of classic Latin big bands to Pinecrest Gardens in a concert celebrating five decades of music and the legacy of his father, legendary Puerto Rican singer and bandleader Tito Rodríguez. Presented Saturday, February 6, Una Noche Inolvidable con Tito Rodríguez pairs the younger Rodríguez’s work as a timbalero, arranger and bandleader with music associated with “El Inolvidable.” A Berklee College of Music alumnus, Rodríguez Jr. made his recording debut with Curious? in 1975 and has continued developing a style rooted in traditional tropical music with contemporary arrangements. His recordings include Eclipse, The Big 3 Palladium Orchestra: Live at the Blue Note and Transición, an album reflecting the Puerto Rican and Japanese heritage of his parents. The concert looks back on the musical tradition passed between generations while highlighting Rodríguez Jr.’s own work as a percussionist, composer, producer and bandleader.
