Parisian department stores helped bring the geometric forms and stylized motifs of Art Deco to a wider public. On view August 28, 2026 through August 1, 2027, Paris Expo 1925 at The Wolfsonian–FIU in Miami Beach examines their role in introducing the aesthetic. The small display brings together postcards, sales catalogues and selected objects associated with the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. Visited by more than 15 million people, the Paris fair helped circulate a taste for geometric shapes, decorative motifs and symmetrical compositions that would later become known as Art Deco. The display is located in Knight Lab 4.
