Modern Rome’s transformation beyond its ancient core is the focus of a Culture Crawl conversation at The Wolfsonian–FIU in Miami Beach. Held Thursday, November 19, the program features architectural historian Jean-François Lejeune discussing his book The Other Rome: Building the Modern Metropolis 1870–1960 with Michele Mistò, Consul General of Italy in Miami. The 7 p.m. conversation examines Rome’s architectural evolution during a period of rapid urban expansion and modernization. It is presented with the Consulate General of Italy in Miami and the Italian Cultural Institute in Miami. The event is part of the monthly Miami Beach Culture Crawl, which offers free evening programming at participating cultural institutions across South Beach, with complimentary trolley service connecting locations.
