A community ofrenda, or altar honoring loved ones who have died, anchors an evening of music, art and storytelling at The Underline. The inaugural MIAltar Día de los Muertos celebration takes place Saturday, November 7 at the park’s River Room in Brickell, bringing neighbors together around the Mexican tradition of remembrance. The program includes an open mic where participants can share stories, poems or songs, alongside live music and a display of CajuelAltar—homemade ofrendas assembled inside car trunks. Food vendors, artists, community organizations and local businesses join the gathering, with activities designed for families. The River Room is located at 601 SW 1st Court, near the Miami River. Visitors can reach The Underline via Metrorail to Brickell Station; paid parking is available in the surrounding area.
