Latin funk, soul and Afro-Caribbean rhythms come together in an outdoor performance by Miami-based seven-piece Tony & the Kings at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Presented Friday, February 19 as part of the Live on the Plaza series, the band performs on the Parker and Vann Thomson Plaza for the Arts. Formed in 2020 and fronted by vocalist Tony Rivera, the group blends Puerto Rican, Cuban and African influences with funk and soul, moving through styles including boogaloo, Latin soul, son and Afro-funk. Rivera’s Spanglish vocals add another layer to a sound shaped by Miami’s multicultural music scene. Light bites and beverages are available before the performance, with happy hour pricing offered prior to the concert.
