Key Biscayne Film Festival

Independent films from South Florida and abroad take center stage during four days of screenings and filmmaker-focused programming across Key Biscayne. Held January 21 through 24, the fourth annual Key Biscayne Film Festival presents documentaries, narrative features, shorts, comedy and animation, with the 2027 film lineup to be announced following the current submission period. Founded in 2023 by Maite Garrido Thornton and Isabel Custer Edwards, the festival highlights both emerging and established filmmakers while bringing selections from the wider international festival circuit to the island community. Awards recognize feature and short films, with dedicated Spotlight on Youth and Spotlight on Key Biscayne categories showcasing young South Florida filmmakers and work connected to Key Biscayne and the surrounding area. Presented in collaboration with the Village of Key Biscayne and the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, screenings and related programs take place at various venues throughout Key Biscayne.
