Find us in the Liberty City community at the Marshall Davis African Heritage Cultural Arts Center! History comes to your neighborhood! Our In-Community programs bring the museum beyond its walls and into community spaces, offering hands-on activities for families and all ages. Participants can explore history through interactive art making activities and engage with objects from the Museum’s education teaching collection. Designed to spark curiosity and creativity, these programs invite families to learn together, connect with local stories, and experience history in fun, accessible ways right where they live. Join us for a family-friendly day of music, food, Junkanoo Rushes and a Culture Fair at the Marshall Davis African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. Organized by the FIU Public Humanities Lab, this event will include Junkanoo Rushes and musical demonstrations, a pop-up exhibition about the Bahamian tradition of Junkanoo and the opportunity to engage with museums and cultural heritage groups from South Florida and beyond.
