I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change

Dating, marriage and relationship mishaps unfold through a series of comic musical vignettes as part of Actors’ Playhouse’s Mainstage season at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables. Running Wednesday through Sunday from July 14 through August 8, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change follows characters through the shifting rituals of romance, from first dates and commitment to marriage and life together. With a book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, the production uses the revised 2018 edition, which introduced new songs and updated material reflecting contemporary relationships and dating. The musical also has a history at Actors’ Playhouse: its 1998 production ran for a year at the Miracle Theatre and returned the following season. Thursday performances include a pre-show happy hour at the Bacardi Bar, while the Friday, July 23 performance is followed by a Q&A with the cast and director. The Sunday, August 8 matinee offers audio description for audience members who are blind or have low vision.
