Hurricane Season Begins Today!

As hurricane season begins, the City of Opa-locka encourages all residents to take the necessary steps to prepare for potential storms and emergencies. While forecasters are predicting a less active Atlantic hurricane season this year, it only takes one storm to significantly impact our community. We urge residents to create an emergency plan, assemble a disaster supply kit, review evacuation routes, and stay informed through reliable sources. Resources such as the Miami-Dade Ready App, the FPL Mobile App, and Miami-Dade County's Emergency & Evacuation Assistance Program (EEAP) are available to help residents prepare, receive important updates, and access assistance when needed. Before, during, and after a storm, please follow guidance from local officials, avoid hazardous conditions, and report any damage or power outages. By preparing today, we can help protect our families, neighborhoods, and community. Together, we remain Opa-locka Strong. https://www.opalockafl.gov/calendar.aspx?EID=2174
