Have you ever wanted to pick your own food from South Florida’s abundant vegetation? Forager: A Subjective Guide to Miami’s Edible Plants – co-authored by Tiffany Noé, George Echevarria, and Nick Vagnoni – provides a full-color window into South Florida’s foraging culture. This revised and expanded edition of the book features a new introduction, new and updated entries, and delightful original poems from O, Miami’s poetry archive. Forty-three different species of edible plants are included, as well as tips, histories, advice, and warnings, accompanied by descriptive plates displaying the parts of each plant and color photos that provide a vivid glimpse at South Florida’s foraging life. Moderated by Edible South Florida editor Gretchen Schmidt, this panel will provide a multisensory experience via show-and-tell of foragable and edible fruits and plants currently in season, as well as what’s changed on the local landscape in the years since the first edition of Forager was published.
