Classical technique, bluegrass drive and old-time fiddle traditions converge in an acoustic performance by bassist Edgar Meyer, mandolinist Mike Marshall and violinist George Meyer. The concert takes place Saturday, January 23 at The Moss Center. The trio moves between composed works and spontaneous interplay, pairing the precision of chamber music with the relaxed energy of a picking session. The program is expected to range from Bach-inspired duets and traditional fiddle tunes to selections connected with the genre-crossing album Short Trip Home. New music written for the tour will also be featured. Together, the three musicians bring distinct classical, folk and bluegrass perspectives to a program built around acoustic textures, improvisation and close ensemble communication.
