Howard Shore’s music for Middle-earth fills the candlelit Scottish Rite Temple in a string-quartet program spanning all three films. Presented in two performances on Saturday, November 28, the limited-edition concert marks the 25th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring, the first installment in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The Listeso String Quartet performs selections including “Concerning Hobbits,” “The Breaking of the Fellowship,” “The Riders of Rohan,” “Evenstar,” “The Ride of the Rohirrim” and “Into the West.” The setlist and sheet music have been approved by Shore, the trilogy’s composer. Each performance runs approximately 60 minutes. The concert is open to ages 8 and older, with guests under 16 accompanied by an adult. Doors open one hour before each performance, late entry is not permitted and seating is assigned within each ticketed zone on a first-come, first-served basis. The venue is not wheelchair accessible.
