Candlelight: Romantic Classics

Classical melodies, film themes and romantic favorites are arranged for string quartet in a candlelit setting at Scottish Rite Temple MIA. Candlelight: Romantic Classics takes place Saturday, February 13, with the Listeso String Quartet performing under the gentle glow of candlelight. The 60-minute concert offers a Valentine’s weekend program spanning opera, ballet, cinema and late-Romantic repertoire. The tentative program includes “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, “O Mio Babbino Caro” from Gianni Schicchi, “Méditation” from Thaïs, Debussy’s “Clair de Lune,” Piazzolla’s “Libertango” and Elgar’s “Larghetto” from Serenade for Strings in E Minor. Film selections include the love theme from Romeo and Juliet, “Gabriel’s Oboe” from The Mission and “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic. The concert is open to ages 8 and older, and guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Doors open 60 minutes before showtime, and late entry is not permitted. Seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis within each ticket zone. The venue is not accessible.
