Music by Mozart and Beethoven shares the spotlight in a candlelit string quartet program at Miami’s Scottish Rite Temple. Presented Sunday, January 3 and Saturday, March 6, the 60-minute concert features Collins Quartet performing familiar works by the two Classical-era composers. The tentative program pairs Mozart selections including the “Turkish March,” the overture to The Marriage of Figaro, Eine kleine Nachtmusik and movements from Symphonies Nos. 25 and 40 with Beethoven favorites such as the “Moonlight” Sonata, “Für Elise,” the Pathétique Sonata, “Ode to Joy” and the opening movement of Symphony No. 5. The concert is open to guests ages 8 and older, with anyone under 16 required to attend with an adult. Late entry is not permitted once the performance begins, and the historic Scottish Rite Temple is not accessible.
