For the first time, Coral Gables Museum, in collaboration with the Mexican Cultural Institute in Miami, presents a traditional Día de Muertos altar honoring Octavio Paz, one of Latin America’s most influential literary figures and recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Created by Mexican artists Karla Kantorovich and Monica Czukerberg, Una ofrenda a la palabra, la memoria y el tiempo (An Offering to Words, Memory, and Time) reimagines the traditional altar as a space where poetry, art, and ancestral rituals come together to explore our relationship with life, death, and remembrance.
