A Dose of Fun: The Wonder Show!

An interactive puppet adventure brings knights, pirates, mermaids and a not-so-scary dragon to GableStage’s Wolfson Family Theatre at The Biltmore. Launching Saturday, October 3, A Dose of Fun: The Wonder Show! is the first production in GableStage’s new Family Theatre Series, with additional performances on December 12, January 30, March 27 and May 22. Each 40-minute performance is followed by a cast-led puppet-making workshop. The story follows a shy young chef sent on a quest to make Dragon Soup before nightfall, using humor, music and audience participation to explore courage, kindness and imagination. Created and directed by Ivan Lopez with performers Elizabeth Chavez, Luis Diaz and Maleeha Naseer, the production features 13 puppets and original music by Hola*Hi. The series grows out of GableStage’s A Dose of Fun arts-in-healthcare initiative, which brings interactive theater to children in hospitals, schools and community settings. Tickets are $5 per person and include materials for the Build-Your-Own-Puppet workshop.
